Welcome back to another blockbuster deal by kawntent sports. In this deal, the Sixers sell their souls to get LaVine and DeRozan and the Bulls get a pick-based return, while the Knicks make out like bandits as the third wheel.

Why the Sixers do this:

Despite their 5-1 record, the Sixers know they can’t compete with the Bucks and the Celtics in the playoffs. This trade aims to change that, bringing in two more All-Star level players alongside their MVP in Embiid and MIP candidate Maxey. They somehow manage to keep De’Anthony Melton and give up just one full first round pick to get this deal done.

Why the Bulls do this:

The Bulls enter their rebuild with a bang, gaining control of all of the Sixers’ future first round picks, giving them the scraps of swap worsts. They also get a first round pick, a few second rounders, and some players looking to prove their worth in Fournier, Korkmaz, Harris, and McBride, each of which could be appreciating assets with larger roles in Chicago.

Why the Knicks do this:

The Knicks end the Evan Fournier saga with this deal, bringing in Marcus Morris, and giving up just some second round picks and Miles McBride to get the deal done. This saves them 3.5 million dollars this year and Fournier’s entire contract next season, as Morris is on an expiring deal. They get involved to clear Morris’ recently traded restriction that would apply if he went straight to Chicago, acting as a speed boost for the completion of this deal.
