Welcome back to another trade by kawntent sports, this deal goes into two ongoing series that I have been doing and allows them to exist within the same timeline. The Grizzlies get two big men in exchange for an injured man and a young prospect, while the Bulls save significant money and get a pick.

Why the Bulls do this:

The Bulls lessen their tax payment, bring in a first-round pick, and acquire a young guy in Jake LaRavia, in exchange for two players over the age of 30 who won’t be helpful for a rebuilding team like Chicago. This is a lot for aging players and they get this return because the Grizzlies are desperate.

Why the Grizzlies do this:

The Grizzlies need more players who can just be big bodies defensively and get some rebounds, and Vucevic and Drummond fit that description. They don’t need to be amazing defenders because that’s the entire point of Jaren Jackson Jr. They only give up a lottery protected pick, a player they don’t have the minutes to develop, and a player who’s out for the season.
